About

Nate Burke

CMO at 7AI. Twenty years marketing security software, most of it spent arguing that the category does not have to look like this.

I run marketing at 7AI, an agentic security company in Boston that raised the largest Series A in cybersecurity history. Before that I was CMO at Nagomi Security, and CMO at Axonius from stealth through $100M ARR and a $3B valuation. Before that, Hexadite, acquired by Microsoft, and CloudLock, acquired by Cisco.

I co-host Do Human Work with Lior Div, a podcast about what people do once the machines take the repetitive work. In November 2026 I am giving the opening keynote at CyberMarketingCon, and publishing a free field guide called Resist Comfort.

What I believe about this industry

Cybersecurity marketing has converged. The homepages are interchangeable, the messaging is interchangeable, and the reason is not laziness. It is that every safe choice is defensible and every different choice has to be defended. So the whole category optimizes for work nobody can be blamed for, which is also work nobody remembers.

Better is subjective. Different is measurable. That is most of what I have to say, and the rest is evidence.

I live on Cape Cod. I shoot film and digital, collect sports cards, and have more Neanderthal DNA than 91 percent of people, which explains a great deal.
