An Event Apart Boston 2008

Time: 8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m
Cost: $895 through May 26th, $995 Through June 22
Location: Boston Marriott Copley
Description: In late 2005, two internationally recognized web authorities—web standards godfather Jeffrey Zeldman and world-renowned CSS expert Eric Meyer—got together to create the kind of web design conference they would want to attend.

Their new conference wouldn’t be just for designers. It wouldn’t be just for coders. Attendees would gain a deeper understanding of web standards, of course. But they would also encounter a world of emerging best practices and inspiring new ideas.

Guest speakers had to stand out as well. Subject matter expertise was not enough. Each speaker had to have made unique contributions to the industry. Each had to be a star.

Tuesday, July 15

Web Innovators Group

Time: 6:30pm
Location: Royal Sonesta Cambridge
Description: WebInno is an informal gathering of people interested in internet and mobile innovation free and open to all in the community.  The agenda is to start with a few quick demos, make introductions all around, and then schmooze the rest of the evening.

Following our usual format, early stage start-ups and individual innovators will briefly demo their product/service in two different forums. First, there will be a couple center-stage presenters giving five minute demos for the entire crowd (aka “main dishes”) at 7pm. In addition, there will be a number of tables set up at the periphery of the room for live informal demonstrations to smaller groups during the schmoozing sessions (aka “side dishes”). Each will help provide the community a glimpse of current local endeavors in the space and offer the basis for further conversation.
