Profile of WhyGoSolo on StartRocket.com

My profile of WhyGoSolo is up on StartRocket. After blindly registering for the service I thought I should actually do the research and find out what it was all about.

Checking Out WhyGoSolo Again

So after yesterday’s hiccup, I’m going back to the service I know nothing about: WhyGoSolo. Let’s take a look.
I sign in, and add some stuff to my profile:

Pretty standard profile stuff. Now let’s take a look around at the different features/sections.

Community listings are just what they sound like- categorized [...]

Why Go Solo? I don’t know. You tell me.

Today I heard of a new site called WhyGoSolo. Rather than doing the regular research, I decided to dive right in just for the hell of it. What does that mean? I literally have no idea what WhyGoSolo is, why it exists, and what I’m signing up for. Let’s see what happens as I go [...]

Google Chatback

Google has now released a chatback badge, allowing blog visitors to chat with site owners. If you use gmail, you simply go to this page, and code is generated for you. You can choose whether to include your status message. Looks like this:

At my day job (at matchmine), we’re working on creating a better way to help people find the stuff they like. Sure, it’s infinitely more complicated than that, but I think that’s  a pretty good single sentence description. Because of that, I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to understand the problems involved in [...]

Creating Solutions To Problems That Do Not Exist

This weekend was a strange one for me, as I’ve been haunted by my reaction to a gum commercial. Seriously.
The commercial in question was for chewing gum that comes in a cup. If we are to believe the commercial, since the advent of the automobile, people have struggled with a problem. That problem is: there [...]

blist- You’re Dead To Me

Never write a review of a product or an app when you’re steaming, red-hot angry.
- I’m just assuming someone has said that.

It’s beta, so I know that I shouldn’t complain. Anyone that is trying to do actual work using a beta application should know better. But in my excitement, I thought: Hey, why [...]
